A DIY Wedding in their Family Garden

A DIY wedding on another scale as they held their marquee garden reception in Guy’s childhood home in Northamptonshire.

I KNEW this wedding was going to epic when we chatted through the timings and details of the day during our pre-wedding meeting. The paddock in Guy’s family home was levelled to accommodate a marquee, signs and grass pathways were made for guests to make their way back from the church (All of 5 minutes amble!), his mum had been hard at work in the garden, a round of golf was planned for the morning, and there were so many personalised and handmade details that made their wedding utterly unique.

To cap it off, they were surrounded by friends and family cheering them on throughout the day, which made for a fab atmosphere and party in the evening.

I asked Hannah and Rob some questions once they had received their Final gallery, to provide some feedback on what it was like to work with me. Here’s what they said:

When you first found my work, what did you think?

We loved how relaxed your work looked. Everyone looked so happy and comfortable in all of your pictures.

how did you find the booking process and communication leading up to your wedding?

The booking process was really straight forward and Sam put us at ease throughout the whole process. We were able to have a video call and as soon as we spoke to Sam we knew she was the photographer for us! She is very organised and has a calming aura about her which is exactly what I (Hannah!) needed.

what was it like working with me on your wedding day?

It was so great working with Sam. She provided a second shooter (Moira) who was also absolutely fantastic, this meant not a moment was missed! Both Sam and Moira blended into the wedding party which is exactly what we wanted.

was there anything you were worried about that I helped you through?

As a major over thinker I was unsure how we would work the confetti, however I needn’t have worried, as Sam had it all under control! The little things aside from just photography made a great difference and massively stood out. For example, taking the bridesmaids overnight bags from the house to the venue! At one point I was certain I’d left my handbag in the wedding car and turned around and Sam had it in her hand, so much more than just a photographer!!

looking at your photos now what is #1 favourite thing?

The natural ‘candid’ shots capture our happiness on the day perfectly.

how would you describe me to your family and friends?

Organised, kind and talented.
